Robert McBride

Robert McBride is the Managing Director of the Wakefield Street Panelshop. As a youngster he was always interested in motor vehicles and started a panelbeating apprenticeship at the age of 17. At 23 years old he was managing a very big panelbeating shop. In October 1992 At the age of 25 he bought his own business, Wakefield Panebeaters. The original location was 73 Wakefield Street in the city but after 5 years operating the business outgrew these premises and he relocated to 16-18 Aitken Terrace in Eden Terrace.

Robert is professional, friendly and approachable. He knows the industry inside out and he has a good rapport with all insurance assessors. He prides himself on every vehicle repaired. Any queries before, during or after your vehicle is with us he will be more than happy to advise you.

 

Gerry Byrne
Gerry Byrne is the Managing Director of the paintshop - Wakefield Street Carpainters. Gerry grew up in Ireland and did an apprenticeship in panelbeating and carpainting.

After completing his apprenticeship he moved to London and worked for 3 years in the car-painting industry.Upon arriving in New Zealand in 1988, Gerry worked and managed carpainting shops in Auckland before buying Wakefield Carpainters in 1994.

At work Gerry is renowned for his sense of humour, he is an excellent communicator with customers and all his staff, Gerry is fair and well organised. He is more than willing to help you with your queries.
